Career questions, answered

How do I move into customer success?

Compare customer success associate, onboarding and customer support vacancies. Map examples of helping customers, explaining a process and resolving problems from your current work. Learn how a software product helps its users and practise an onboarding conversation. Each employer sets its own experience and product-knowledge requirements.

Is customer success the same as customer support?

Support usually responds to specific questions or problems. Customer success often takes a longer-term approach: onboarding, adoption, account reviews and renewals. Smaller companies may combine these duties, and some roles include commercial targets. Read the responsibilities rather than relying on the title.

What affects a customer success manager salary in Australia?

Experience, account complexity, industry, location and responsibility for retention or renewals all affect pay. A manager salary is not an entry-level associate benchmark. Compare current Australian advertisements for the same level and check whether figures include superannuation or bonuses.
